The first voice calling for ‘critical/theoretical’ development of improvement as rigorous scientific discipline that would be invigorating to clinical professionals. The clinical student and the practicing physician share a ‘learned incompetence’ when it comes to statistics. It is hoped that the idea of statistical thinking would be invigorating to both clinical and managerial professionals. It is also a place for Applied Clinical Informatics.
